Electric Hot Water

Electric hot water systems can be storage, electric assisted or instant systems.

Electric storage systems heat the water in the tank and as the hot water is drawn out from the tank, it is replaced with cold water, which triggers the reheating process. Some older storage systems used to heat the water in the tank overnight using off peak electricity rates however these systems are not allowed to be installed anymore. An electrically heated storage tank system is usually relatively cheap to buy and install, but is usually the most expensive to run, and instant systems simply heat the water as it is required.

When guiding you through the process of choosing an electric heating system, the Twins will need to understand (at least):
What are your hot water requirements, i.e. how many litres over how many hours?
What is the energy efficiency of the water heater?
Do you care about the fact that most electric water heaters are greenhouse gas emitters?

The Twin Plumbers can provide you with expert advice and help you decide on the best system for you.
