Systems can be segmented into electric ignition and gas pilot light systems.

Electric ignition systems are more economical, but unfortunately during a blackout you also lose your hot water supply. Instantaneous systems, on the other hand, heat the water as required so they need high gas flow and may need the installation of larger gas pipes.
